Strategy

Creation of a Manual about the Model of Guidance, Training, and Insertion (GTI) into the labor market

The first strategy aims to develop an analysis of how guidance, training, and labor support are provided in each prison service. It also focuses on what proceedings establish cooperation with private organizations.

It’s expected to impact how prison services and companies engage in creating job placement opportunities in prison work. Most of all, it aims to deliver a framework that any industry, in need of manpower, can use to offer qualifications, and, therefore, match the market needs.

Review the existing manual for GTI processes cooperation
Design a Train the Trainers course for practitioners
Deliver four pilots (1 pilot per partner country)
Delivery of 1 transnational manual with the national context of each country

Private industries induction training for inmates

It’ll be reviewed how prison services and private organizations work together when setting up candidates to be introduced in specific industries. Afterward, partners will design a certified induction module (VET) that must ensure that inmates can perform tasks as interns in industry-specific career paths.

The project will use the mold industry, but each country can adapt to other trades in need of manpower.
The induction module must be structured to help industries to identify the essential competencies/skills that inmates must achieve, and it must enable inmates to access job opportunities and motivate them to invest in the career path offered by the industry.

Review induction courses
Design course curricula and course organization protocols
Exchange information among partners on the training materials, piloting setup, and development of the induction training course
Deliver four pilot courses

Creation of a Catalogue: Integration of Case Studies

The GTI processes with the best potential to enhance learning will be selected and presented in a catalogue. The case studies information will be presented in a standardised and certified format, to serve as a benchmark to be disseminated to other industries as well as within the same industry in different geographic areas.

Design of the catalogue structure
Select the Guidance, Training and Insertion case studies
Pilot the catalogue with industries
Deliver a catalogue development guide

Training of Trainers

This will tutor prison administrations and industry associations on the guidelines, framework, and workflow of the GTI cooperation process. This capacity-building course will be vital to help internalize and mainstream GTI processes and facilitate industry engagement.

The project will design a training course manual with a common structure but adapted to different countries’ specifications under a blended format and implying a “work-based” approach.

Design course curricula based on case studies
Develop and partners exchange of training materials
Set up a Learning Management System (LMS) platform
Pilot the Train the Trainers course in each country
Embed the manual into the annual training
